About the job

As a Research Intern within the Atmospheric and Oceanography Sciences Group (AOSG) at the Space Applications Centre (SAC), a major centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), I played a pivotal role in contributing to a research project titled 'Bias Correction of SCATSAT-1 Winds.' This initiative aligned with ISRO's mission to design space-borne instruments and leverage space technology for societal benefits.

My responsibilities encompassed the proactive management of diverse tasks, including data collection, analysis, and comprehensive literature reviews. These efforts aimed to identify strategic opportunities for enhancing satellite communication accuracy, with a primary focus on Oceanography. Applying advanced data science and machine learning principles, I successfully rectified bias within the SCATSAT-1 satellite data, addressing systematic errors and significantly improving data reliability.

Beyond the technical aspects, I played a crucial role in presenting the research findings to the esteemed scientific peer group at AOSG. The validation received from this peer group underscored the significance of the project and paved the way for the meticulous documentation of the research. This documentation aimed at broader dissemination within the scientific community, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the field.

My tenure with ISRO, working on multifaceted challenges in broadcasting, navigation, disaster monitoring, meteorology, and environmental monitoring, not only enhanced my technical skills but also provided a platform for developing a comprehensive rationale for objective decision-making. I am profoundly grateful to ISRO for the enriching experience and invaluable learnings gained during this period.
